# Use the terminal

> Start the Fleet RLM terminal client, resume Sessions, and use slash commands for files, Skills, settings, and diagnostics.

The terminal client lives in `tools/fleet-tui` and is built on pi-tui. It renders live and committed Turns and talks to the backend over the public HTTP API.

## Start the terminal

```bash theme={null}
uv run fleet cli
```

`fleet cli` starts the Daytona-backed API, waits for readiness, and supervises the terminal. Pass terminal options after `--`.

uv run fleet cli -- --session <session-uuid>
```

| Option | Description |
| - | - |
| `--session <uuid>` | Resume an existing Session. |
| `--api-url <url>` | Connect to a different backend. Defaults to `http://127.0.0.1:8000`. |
| `artifact <uuid> --output <path>` | Download, verify, and save an Artifact, then exit. |
| `--help`, `-h` | Show help. |

## Slash commands

Type `/help` in the terminal for the live list.

### Conversation

| Command | Description |

| `/cancel` | Cancel the current Run. |
| `/redo` | Resubmit the last prompt with a fresh idempotency key. |
| `/clear` | Reset the local view without changing durable Session history. |
| `/status` | Show Session, Run, and token usage. |
| `/task` | Show the current Session's saved task checkpoint. |
| `/exit` | Exit the terminal. |

### Sessions

| Command | Description |

| `/sessions [title search]` | Find, manage, and switch Sessions. |
| `/resume <session-uuid>` | Resume a different Session. |
| `/rename <title>` | Rename the current Session. |
| `/reload` | Re-fetch committed Turns for the current Session. |

### Files and Artifacts

| `/attach <path>…`, `/attach clear`, `/attach list` | Upload local files as Attachments pinned to the next Turn. |
| `/files [path]` | List the Workspace `files/` root. |
| `/file <path> [save <localPath>]` | Show or save one file from the Workspace `files/` root. |
| `/volume [root]` | Show the Workspace Volume file tree. |
| `/artifacts` | List Artifacts committed in this conversation. |
| `/artifact <artifactId> <localPath>` | Download and verify an Artifact to a local path. |

### Skills and settings

| Command | Description |

| `/skills` | List Skills available for the next Turn. |
| `/skill <name-or-id>`, `/skill <uuid>@<version>`, `/skill clear` | Pin or clear Skills for the next Turn. |
| `/settings` | Edit runtime settings. Changes apply after a restart. |
| `/theme [name]` | List or switch the color theme. |

### Diagnostics

| Command | Description |

| `/trace` | Show the trace ID and Run ID for the current or latest attempt. |
| `/feedback <up\|down> [comment]` | Record feedback for the latest execution trace. |
| `/help` | List all slash commands. |

## Custom themes

The terminal ships dark and light themes. Add custom JSON themes in `~/.local/share/fleet/tui/themes/`. Fleet ignores a malformed custom theme instead of failing.
