# TUI

> The interactive terminal client for Fleet Prime Agent.

The TUI (`packages/tui`) is Fleet Prime Agent's interactive terminal UI. It's what you get when you launch `prime-agent` without a mode flag.

## What it gives you

* Live streaming of assistant text and tool cards.
* Slash commands (`/refine`, `/login`, `/tokens`, `/status`, `/doctor`, …).
* Session list and search.
* Keyboard shortcuts registered by extensions and skills.

## How it connects

The TUI uses the `AgentConnection` seam to talk to whichever backend is running:

* **Local** — the agent runs in the TUI's own process.
* **Daemon** — the TUI attaches to a running daemon over the daemon protocol.

The old `InteractiveModeLocalSessionHost` is gone (ADR-0001, 2026-08-11). The seam widened to include an extensions sub-interface, a read-only `SessionView`, and an `afterReplace` hook so extensions and the TUI stay decoupled.

## Attach vs launch

* `prime-agent` — start a fresh session in the current terminal.
* `prime-agent --resume <id>` — resume a saved session.
* `prime-agent attach <id>` — attach to a session already running under the daemon. Multiple clients can attach to the same session and see the same stream.
